This piece celebrates all that which is feminine. The cat itself has been associated with the feminine since ancient times. The Egyptians revered Bastet, who became to be depicted as a cat, or with a cat’s head. Sacred feminine symbols can be found throughout this piece of art, as the artist journeyed into accepting her own feminine self and embraced those parts of herself which had been rejected. We find balance at the heart of the cat in the symbol of the yin yang.
