Blue Tiger Eye, also known as hawks eye is related to the well known Gold Tiger Eye. During the formation of gold tiger eye, the bluish-gray crocidolite is replaced by quartz while its fibrous structure is preserved. In this variety, the transformation is only partial, leaving the blue colour to remain. The shimmering eye-like nature, called chatoyancy, is caused by these newly created fibers.
Blue tiger eye is a very calming crystal, it is said to release stress, to soothe anxiety and to help cool a quick temper. All tigers eye crystals are stones of protection and were traditionally carried to protect against curses.
