Peruvian Butterfly Frames - Morpho Achilles 8"x7"

These butterflies are raised on butterfly farms in the Amazon Jungle, where they live out the entirety of their natural lifespans before being collected by the farmers that tend to them, and are placed into these frames by local artisans. All butterflies used in these frames are in the common butterfly family and do not fall under the endangered species umbrella. It is recommended to keep them out of direct sunlight and out of moist environments to prevent damage. Butterflies represent transformation and happiness, they bring colour to our lives and remind us to "dance like no one is watching".

This butterfly is the Morpho Achilles. The genus name Morpho comes from the Greek epithet of Aphrodite, goddess of love and Achilles was a Greek hero of the Trojan War.
